Is mental health coaching right for me?

Coaching as a supportive service

At different points in our lives, we need help. What that help looks like depends on all sorts of factors. For some people, a more conventional form of talk therapy is precisely the type of support someone requires to feel healthier. In certain crisis situations, an inpatient program may be more suitable for the level of care that a person needs. These examples relate to complex aspects of our health that demand an intensive approach, which may then turn into something less intensive over time. Mental health coaching provides support for navigating our daily lives, and helps us to identify what it is that we're feeling, what those feelings are connected to, how to manage the emotions we experience, acknowledging and exploring any barriers that might exist between ourselves and the goals we aspire toward. This is not to say that the daily struggles we experience are less significant, but you can think of coaching, in a way, as a preventative method toward mental health wellness. A way to manage where we are in our lives according to self-identified hierarchy of needs. A coach will help to support a person's efforts to embrace their worth and connection so that they can navigate daily struggles having faith in their own ability to change the patterns they have determined do not serve them.
In short, a coach is here for it! Here for the transformation. Here to give extra support as people recognize what they want and need for themselves to feel fulfilled. If a person would like to clarify for themselves what it is that they wish to pursue--what goals for their mental health and well-being, what steps they would like to take, what noise they confront along their journey, what baggage they recognize they need to unpack, what website they need to go to! (coaching provides practical assistance as well)--a good coach can provide help with the process of strengthening our confidence and respect for our authentic selves.
Some folks are lucky--they already know people who serve as coaches in their lives. Those cheerleader friends who have our backs, who believe in us. But not everyone has regular access to a person who can help them process what they're going through in a helpful way. Navigate's coaching aims to do just that. Navigate provides active listening for those areas in our lives where we are doing the work of living as our best, beautiful selves.
Not all relationships involve compatible parties. The first time you meet with a coach at Navigate, there is no charge. This provides an opportunity for you to decide whether Navigate's brand of coaching is a good fit for you. It's okay if it isn't! Your coach may be able to help you figure out what service is the best for what it is you're working through. Either way, there are no hard feelings, and never any obligation to continue working together.
If you do find coaching helpful for your needs, then you can pay for a session at a time, or pay for a bundle that you can schedule over time, with a maximum of six months. For people who choose a multi-session approach, your coach will help you to identify the goals you have for your mental health, and the steps you can take to get there. For people who just need an ear every now and again, your coach will use active listening techniques to help you externalize and put words to what it is you're going through and feel heard. Even within coaching, there are variations that depend on what it is that will best support a person where they're at in their own life.
